The Riders hosted the Sioux City Musketeers Friday and battled hard in a back-and-forth game. Despite falling 8–7 in a shootout, they earned a hard-fought and valuable point. Five Riders recorded multiple points, led by Connor Davis with a goal and two assists.
Saturday the Riders came out strong for IAWA and Linn Co-op Night in a Dupaco Cowbell Cup game against Waterloo. The Riders led 3–0 after the first period and went on to secure a 9–1 team victory.
Nathan Chorlton scored his first goal as a RoughRider since being acquired from Chicago. Nick Romeo scored twice Friday and once Saturday to reach 25 goals on the season and now has points in seven of his last eight games.
Connor Davis added two power play goals (19 and 20), while Joseph Fenton scored his first career USHL goal as the Riders took a 7–1 lead into the third period. Sullivan Miller and Justin Graf closed out the scoring.
Joseph Skidmore stopped 21 of 22 shots for his eighth win of the season. Henry Lechner recorded four assists Saturday, becoming the fourth Rider to reach 40-plus points this season.
Ten Riders recorded two or more points on the weekend, led by Davis with six. The Riders scored nine first-period goals across the two games and finished the weekend with 16 total goals. They went 4 for 9 on the power play and killed 6 of 7 penalties.
The Riders are now 7-0-2 in their last nine games, the longest current point streak in the USHL, and return home this weekend for two huge games against Green Bay.
